I have been in the field for service learning. I have seen two academic softwares I really like for students. Since I would like to be a first grade teacher these programs are mainly for the lower grades. The first software is called classroom dojo. It is an amazing program that can help students learn and help teachers create a positive classroom. It is also easy for parents to see students behavior and what is going on in the classroom. Another software tool that I saw during my service learning was reflex math. A lot of students would use reflex math after they were done with the activity. Students loved learning on reflex math and I believe it is a great tool to have in the classroom. I have been interacting and seeing the posts that go in #fsu2040. It is really interesting to see what everyone tweets about. I believe Twitter is a very helpful resource because it is an easy tool for teachers to reach out to other teachers or to see what is happening in the educational world. Ch...

The ELA standards that I am most prepared to teach is "They respond to the varying demands of audience, task, purpose, and discipline. I have prior knowledge because of my experience. One ELA technology standard that I would have to learn more about is, "They use technology and digital media strategically and capably". The CPALMS Educator Toolkit is a great resource for teachers. I would definitely use it in my classroom because there are activities already on there for certain subjects. There are also lesson plans that would help teachers as well. The new skills that I acquired working on the Newsletter Design were fitting all of the information on just two pages and using columns to write. I have never done that before so it was very interesting to learn. I loved all the pictures that I was able to put on the newsletter, but I feel I could have put more information on it and if I were to do it again I would put more color in the background and I would do a higher gra...

I started using Microsoft Word back in elementary school. I remember having to write a couple papers in the fourth and fifth grade. I mainly use Microsoft Word to write school papers or to take notes in class. I have used it for grad school resumes as well. I have seen teachers use Microsoft Word for syllabi, test study guides, notes, and showing learning outcomes for the day.  In middle school and throughout high school, I was taught how to cite. I did use MLA format when citing so going from learning MLA to APA was a big change for me in college. I remember that anything you took from a website, book, movie, etc. had to be cited or that would be plagiarism. I believe since I am wanting to become a first-grade teacher I will not have to deal with students writing papers and worrying about plagiarism. They are just starting to learn to read at that age.  Copyright can be avoided by the student as long as they know how to cite proper sources when writing a paper. If I ...
