The school website that I have chosen is my old school that I went to from Pre k to eighth grade. It is called Resurrection Catholic School. The website has not changed since I visited it back in middle school. There are some updates but it is mostly informational updates. There is even still a picture on it when I was in fifth grade. I think they need to do some updating. When you visit the teacher page it tells you all about their staff names and their emails.

I have never blogged in my life and I think it is pretty cool. Most of our blogs consist of writing how we feel and our opinion about a topic. I really like blogging now. I have learned to be more open and get creative and fun while writing the blog.

One of the new skills I acquired form the web evaluation assignment was getting familiar with making tables. When I used a table it was always in Excel and I think it is pretty cool that you can make tables in Microsoft word as well. Something that I can improve for next time is making a colorful table so it is not just plain and black and white. Check out my Web Evaluation Form below!

  3. Hi Kayla! I like that you used a school website from one you actually attended! I agree they probably do need to do some updating, I looked up my high school's as well and they do too! It seems to be something that is not high on their priority list which is interesting to think about it. I feel the same about blogging though, I have really enjoyed it thus far! I also like your evaluation and how it clear and to the point!

Flipped classrooms are when the students read the material at home of the lesson. The teacher can give helpful YouTube links to give more information on the lesson if they need to. The students then come back into the classroom and apply the knowledge they learned. It helps students learn at their own pace and creates independent learners. In a traditional classroom, the teacher teaches lessons and then tests on their knowledge later. I am personally not a fan of flipped classrooms. I think it is for much older students like high school and college. I believe the traditional classroom should be left for K-8. The digital divide can affect students' success in school because they may not have access to the internet. Their internet maybe really slow and will take hours to watch a lecture video. The student may also not be very educated when it comes to using the skills of the computer.  Some of the causes are the cost of technology, lack of skills, lack of education, and access for ...

The ELA standards that I am most prepared to teach is "They respond to the varying demands of audience, task, purpose, and discipline. I have prior knowledge because of my experience. One ELA technology standard that I would have to learn more about is, "They use technology and digital media strategically and capably". The CPALMS Educator Toolkit is a great resource for teachers. I would definitely use it in my classroom because there are activities already on there for certain subjects. There are also lesson plans that would help teachers as well. The new skills that I acquired working on the Newsletter Design were fitting all of the information on just two pages and using columns to write. I have never done that before so it was very interesting to learn. I loved all the pictures that I was able to put on the newsletter, but I feel I could have put more information on it and if I were to do it again I would put more color in the background and I would do a higher gra...

Assistive and adaptive technologies help students that are disabled that can't always use a mouse, see what is on the computer screen, or hear what the computer is saying. There are specific hardware and software that help students who can't always use the computer fully. It is amazing that there is software out there that help students who can't use a computer fully. Technology is amazing. I don't personally know anyone that has used such technologies. Since I will be teaching first grade, I will be faced with students asking me about adaptive technologies and it is going to be hard to explain to them why a student is using such technology. I know I will face it and overcome it. Technology is so helpful in the classrooms. Since I have been in multiple first grade classrooms, I have seen how technology is very helpful when it comes to learning. I am so excited to have the technology in our classrooms. If the school is able to afford it, I would love to have a smart bo...
