  2. I am very interested in the Thunderbird Software email system that you posted about. I am wondering if an application like Gmail, Yahoo or other email resources could be considered open software as they are also free services offered online that could be used in an educational setting.

  3. I think you provided an excellent description of the 5 R's, and I really like how you used translating as an example of revising! I hadn't even thought of that, and I think that's a really cool way of viewing the versatility and diversity of education and the impact it can have.
I also think the website you included is very interesting! Sometimes, email can be a bit difficult to navigate for some, so I think this could be a really helpful tool!

Flipped classrooms are when the students read the material at home of the lesson. The teacher can give helpful YouTube links to give more information on the lesson if they need to. The students then come back into the classroom and apply the knowledge they learned. It helps students learn at their own pace and creates independent learners. In a traditional classroom, the teacher teaches lessons and then tests on their knowledge later. I am personally not a fan of flipped classrooms. I think it is for much older students like high school and college. I believe the traditional classroom should be left for K-8. The digital divide can affect students' success in school because they may not have access to the internet. Their internet maybe really slow and will take hours to watch a lecture video. The student may also not be very educated when it comes to using the skills of the computer.  Some of the causes are the cost of technology, lack of skills, lack of education, and access for ...

In my plan to use technology for professional development, I will make sure that the lesson I have planned for the day is filled with videos and interactive learning. I don't want to just stand and talk in front of the classroom. I want students to be engaged with technology as they are learning. When I am at a stopping point in my lesson I would like to use a smartboard and have students go up one by one and solve the problem or answer the questions. I also would like to include videos to help them understand what they are learning better. My favorite PowerPoint was using the nonlinear interactive PowerPoint. I made it very creative and used a Disney theme throughout my presentation. I used sounds every time you click if you get it right or wrong. One thing I would've liked to add is more information on nouns, verbs, and adjectives. As I am using PowerPoint, I realize that I am getting more creative with my PowerPoint skills. Below are my two powerpoints! Check out my ...

Throughout this course, I have learned many new skills. I loved learning everything. It was so beneficial to have this course. I will continue using the skills that I acquired in my future teaching career. I have always liked to take photos in my free time of nature. I would love to learn to edit the pictures so that maybe I can take pictures as a side job. Editing on my phone of the pictures I take isn't the best way. I would like to learn on my computer using different software. The only problem is the software is $200. I just need to spend the money and do it because I am very passionate about taking photos. I graduate soon and hopefully, afterwards, I can start learning how to edit photos. Check out my comments on Sierra and Margaux's blogs!
